Always remembered

I still have the POW/MIA bracelet from the early '70's when I served in the USAF. His A-6 aircraft was shot down while on a bombing mission over the Ho Chi Minh trail. It took several years, but in March 1982, his remains were positively identified and returned to the United States, the 80th set of remains to be repatriated to the US after the end of the war. His final resting place was at sea, off the coast of Florida.

Remembered

Dear Lt Commander Brooks,
Thank you for your service as an Unrestricted Line Officer (Naval Flight Officer) from the U.S.S. RANGER. I live across the Hudson River from where you were from (sigh.) I am glad you were identified.
Welcome Home.
It is another summer, as time continues to pass since Vietnam. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
