Remembering An American Hero

Dear PVT Daniel Moran Zuniga, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Remembrance from Family

I unfortunately have never had the chance to meet my second cousin, Daniel. Fortunately i was lucky enough to have visited the wall in myself and personally retrieve a rubbing for my family here in California. Thank you for your sacrifice, you will not be forgotten.

I was there and you will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

I was one of medics that were on LZ BECKY to provide medical care and treatment for the 250-300 Soldiers that were on the LZ. We did not know how many friends we lost during the two day siege or how many were wounded. BUT there were only 40-50 Soldiers that didn’t have some type of wound when we withdrew from LZ BECKY. I wish I could say that I knew DANIEL well but I can’t. We ate some of the same mud and grub at the time and drank from the same water “Buffalo” blivet. Hopefully we shared a few beers along the way. NEVER forget the ones that gave the most or have not yet returned home AS THEY SHOULD NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!! (SMOKEY Medic, A28 CAV)
