Bravery

Terry was in my squad. Two other guys were already gone but he was still alive when we got him on a Medevac. When the guys came back they told me that he said before he took off " I know I am dying but it's OK" . I've thought about that for 51 years. It was the bravest thing I ever heard.

Terry

Terry wasn't far from me when he was hit. I can't remember exactly but he may have been carrying the radio. He was put on a medivac chopper and we were hoping we would hear he made it. The crew said he said, "I know I'm dying but it's OK". Bravest last words I ever heard. It was around Oct 14 not Nov 15. I remember it each year on that day. actually I remember it all the time.
