El Cajon Valley High School Salutes You
Marine Corporal Robert Zimberlin was born November 10, 1944. Robert Zimberlin had only 12 days to go back home when a Viet Cong bullet tore into his chest and killed him. Zimberlin attended and graduated from Clairemont High School, where he earned varsity letters in Football and Track and Field. Zimberlin, who joined the Marines January 13, 1966, was named honor man in his Platoon after finishing basic training. He was presented with a full dress Marine Uniform for his accomplishment. In Vietnam, Zimberlin had been nominated for a bronze star when he went to the aid of his buddies trapped by enemy fire. Robert Zimberlin was a very strong man. He was quiet and he never pop-off. We the students at El Cajon Valley High School would like to thank Robert for serving our great nation. His Duty and courage will never be forgotten.

Big Guy
Hey Zim:
All these years. I was 24 when I brought you home. That was 41 years ago. I think of you every day. When I visit you up at Pt Loma I see that your Dad and Mom now lie with you -- that's good. My Dad and Mom and sister Carol have past too. I really don't think you can read or hear this, but if you can I miss you Big Guy.

NOVEMBER 10TH
Happy Birthday Marine! As we Marines gather together to celebrate the birthday of our beloved Corps on Nov 10th, 1775, we also take time to remember those of our brothers who now stand duty on the streets of Heaven.
As long as there is a Marine Corps, your honor, commitment, courage and sacrifice will NEVER be forgotten.
