Hospitalman Edwin Lloyd Youngman was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his exemplary gallantry in action. He served as a HM-8404-Field Medical Service Technician (Corpsman) and was assigned to the 2nd Bn, 5th Marine Regiment (2/5).

Dear HN Edwin Youngman, Thank you for your service as a Hospitalman with the 5th Marines, Semper Fi. Thank you for the lives you saved. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Lent has begun. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

You are remembered at the "Colorado Western Slope Vietnam Casualties" Park in Fruita, CO.
