we will remember them......

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

A brother and friend

Tommy was a buddy at Ft Stewart, Ga after I had come home from Vietnam, a huey crew chief with A Co 101st Assault Helicopter Bn at Camp Eagle and B Co 158th Avn Bn at Camp Eagle, both in the 101st Airborne. When I heard that Tommy was in a unit very close to the first one I was in I knew he was in a good place.
It wasn't long at all after he had gone to Vietnam that we heard of his death. It hit us all very hard. A fellow Screaming Eagle and a guy who seemed to always make you smile. He kept that '63 chevy looking new.
I was in Nashville for one of the 101st Airborne reunions and stumbled upon Tommy's name on the memorial near the capitol. I had to have a few minutes to myself.
Sail on Tommy. You were a bright light and I will always miss the glow.

Thank You

Dear Sgt Thomas Young, Thank you for your service as a Flight Qualified UH-1 Helicopter Repairer. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Lent has begun. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
