Not Forgotten
I have not forgotten you. I chair the Adoption Committee for The National League of Families of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action in Southeast Asia. We will always remember the 1,889 Americans still unaccounted for in Southeast Asia and the thousands of others that lost their lives. We will not stop our efforts until all of you are home where you belong.
We need to reach the next generation so that they will carry on when our generation is no longer able. To do so, we are attempting to locate photographs of all the missing. If you are reading this remembrance and have a photo and/or memory of this missing American that you would like to share for our project, please contact me at:

IN REMEMBRANCE OF THIS FINE YOUNG UNITED STATES ARMY SOLDIER WHOSE NAME SHALL LIVE FOREVER MORE
PRIVATE FIRST CLASS
JEFFREY JEROME YOUNG
served with
COMPANY ' C '
1st BATTALION
61st INFANTRY
5th INFANTRY DIVISION
== == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == ==
On 3 April 1970,
Private First Class Jeffrey Jerome Young
was killed during a hill assault in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam.
His body was placed with other dead and wounded in the vicinity.
After checking the area where the dead and wounded had been
placed, an officer of the unit stated that all had been evacuated.
A few days later, it was learned that PFC Young was not among
those taken out of the battle area. Other units fighting in the area
looked for him, but never found any trace of him.
Because no body was ever found for PFC Young, he is listed with
honor among the missing. For his family, there can be no doubt that
he died in battle. Unfortunately, however, there is no body to bury.
