Remembering a childhood friend.
Bobby Brockmann was a good neighbor and a good friend to the all the kids on our block. He was especially nice to kids, like me, who were younger than him at the time. He grew to become a heroic man. I make it a point to recall his memory and service to my fellow veterans during Memorial Day services each year. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen and Semper Fidelis, my brother-in-arms. And may God comfort his family and friends in their continuing grief.

You are thought of often
To my uncle. I was just a little over a year old when you passed away. I wish I got to know you. My Mom, your big sister, spoke of you with such love and yet so much pain with your passing. I am proud of you and I am so thankful for your service to our country. I have taught my boys to show respect to veterans and to be sure to thank them for their service. With that, thank you for your service and giving your life. Say hello to my Mom. oxoox

Thanks
Dear Lt. Brockman,
Thank you for your service as an Infantry Unit Commander. Independence Day just passed, and it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
