you might not remember me. i lived on dunlap st. you on rosedale.i always looked up to you. i hung around with your brother craig & i always tried to do whatever you did. dress like u act like u & also serve my country in s. vietnam like u. ty so much doug for teaching me how to be a man. although i was much younger than you. it was a sad day, but 1 that changed my life forever.

As part of the Gridley High School Posting Project I am leaving remembrances for our fallen heroes of the Vietnam War. I commend you for your fearless courage and vigor you donated to our nation. You are unforgotten, and deeply appreciated. Our nation would be broken and nonexistent if not for selfless soldiers who gave their all. Thank you.

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Douglas Allen Young, for your courageous and valiant service, faithful contribution, and your most holy sacrifice given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Marine, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

Again, thank you LCPL Douglas Allen Young, for a job well done!
