MAJ Kenneth J. Yonan (former MIA) - Birthday Remembrance (72d)

The “Friends of Rocky Versace” remember one of Rocky Versace’s fellow alumni from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Major Kenneth Joseph Yonan, class of 1969, on what would’ve been his 72d birthday – 18 July 2019. MAJ Yonan was one of 22 USMA unaccounted for as MIAs in January, 1973 at the "official" end of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. Since then until the date of this remembrance, the remains of twelve MIAs – to include those of MAJ Yonan – were located, positively identified and buried with full military honors in the United States. Ten USMA men from the Vietnam War, CPT Rocky Versace and 9 others, remain MIA.

Thank you

MAJ Yonan, a very important mentor/leader/friend of mine recently informed me that I reminded him of you. He was your peer when you were a mortar platoon leader and later, as my battalion commander, selected me to be his mortar platoon leader. It is an honor to be associated in any way with your service and your sacrifice. Thank you.
