Rest in peace with the warriors.

We served together on the day he gave his life for this country, I will never forget this day or any of the other 365 days I served in Viet Nam. The memories of the day of the river crossing are still vivid and painful. He will always be remembered by me with great sadness that such a wonderful person lived such a short life. Sgt. We Nam Brothers pause to give a backward glance, and post this remembrance to you, one of the gentle heroes lost to the War in Vietnam:

Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.

Joseph, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well my friend, and thank you for protecting the freedoms we enjoy today.
