Silver Star Citation
Silver Star Citation: For gallantry in action while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an armed hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam: Staff Sergeant Wright distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions on 22 May 1968 as a Special Forces advisor to a strike force company on a search and clear mission near My Dien. Sweeping a suspected hostile area, his platoon sighted three enemy soldiers disappearing into a tree line. The friendly element pursued and Sergeant Wright courageously positioned himself near the point in order to have more effective control over the movement in the unsecure area. When the company was ambushed by a superior-sized enemy force, troops deserted, leaving the Sergeant right in his position. Disregarding his own safety, he continued to fight and to aid his wounded troops. Even after he was himself wounded, he refused to withdraw. Staff Sergeant right's gallantry in action was in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.

Kids together
We grew up together in Dutchtown a tiny village outside Uhrichsville. The last time I saw you…you took me back to school at Ohio University. You were so proud of work you were doing for Vietnam villagers building wells. I visited Vietnam a few years back and lit a candle in your memory. Thank you for your service. RIP Jeanne Reese
