Thank You

Dear Sgt Charles Wright, Thank you for your service as a Tank Crewman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Lent has begun. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Final Mission of SGT Charles F. Wright

SGT Charles F. Wright was a tank crewman serving with C Company, 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, III MAF. In the early morning of August 23, 1969, two tanks from Company C, while in support of Company B, 1st Engineer Battalion, received one rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) hit per tank three miles south of Da Nang in Quang Nam Province, RVN. The RPG’s caused moderate damage to both vehicles. SGT Wright was fatally wounded in the attack. Three other Marines were wounded and required medical evacuation.
