Thank You

Dear Sp4 Steven Woodcock, Thank you for your service as a Military Policeman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is President's Day Weekend. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Ground Casualty

SP4 Steven J. "Woody" Woodcock was a military policeman serving with the 218th Military Police Company, 3rd platoon detachment. He was stationed near Tuy Hoa, about a 120 kilometers from his main company which was in Nha Trang. On June 29, 1969, SP4 Woodcock was driving a jeep with armor plates attached, a modification which made the vehicle top-heavy (armored jeeps were used for convoy escort). It was at night, and he was not on duty, but took the jeep with three others out for a ride. It was unclear where they were going. SP4 Woodcock was going too fast in a turn when he lost control of the jeep. He rolled it into a dry rice patty and suffered a fatal broken neck. Two others in the jeep were also injured but survived. Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Steven Jon Woodcock, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
