do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will always be with us....

To ‘Butch’

You never met me, but I’m your brother’s youngest daughter. I’ve heard stories of you my whole life, and I wish I could have met my Uncle Butch. In fact, if I had been a boy, they would have named me Victor.
But you gave your life for your country, and I have always seen your picture proudly displayed. Your name is still on memorials back home in Wabash. Grandma Betty always missed you terribly, and Jerry was always so proud of you. RIP Uncle Butch. You’re still in our hearts.
