Thank You

Dear CWO Mickey Wilson, Thank you for your service as an Utility/Observation Helicopter Pilot. Your 50th anniversary was this month, sad. Glad you were identified in 1999. Welcome Home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Valentine's Day is soon. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Flight school buddy

We were great friends in flight school and I hadn't seen him since we graduated. He and I went to different units and it was nearly a year before we saw each other in Hue in the late fall of 1972 shortly before he went MIA. I had actually been on call that night of January 8th 1973 for the stand-by crew of our Cavalry troop. When we got the call, our CO would not give us the coordinates, either he didnt' know them, or he knew it was hopeless. It was after dark and the Airforce had already been in the area and were taking very heavy fire. They never did locate the wreckage. I just learned some of this information after viewing a unit website. The photo of MIckey and I after we'd not seen each other in alost a year.

Don't believe everything you read.

I am Mickey's sister. I will be making my 11th trip to Vietnam in November to look for him. Body was NOT recovered. 5 teeth were found and nothing more.
Thank all of you for caring and remembering.
Feel free to contact me.
