Thank You

Dear PO3C Lester Williams, Thank you for your service as an Equipment Operator 3rd Class. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. MLK birthday weekend just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Ground Casualty

EON3 Nicholas G. Walz and EON3 Lester L. Williams were Navy Seabees serving with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Three (NMBC-3), 3rd Naval Construction Brigade, U.S. Naval Forces, Vietnam. On December 23, 1967, they were operating a pneumatic jack hammer while conducting road repairs on Highway QL-1 north of Hue in Thua Thien Province, RVN, when they struck a road mine.
