honoring you.....

War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Thank You

Dear Cpl Arnold Wilkening, Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the Epiphany. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

52 Years Ago Today

Hey Arn, It’s been 52 years ago today since you left us. I still miss you very much. I’ve been married for almost 49 years and have 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Both my sons are Marines, and my oldest grandson is completing 5 years in the Navy as a forward air controller. You would like every one of them. Tomorrow’s Memorial Day but to me every day is Memorial Day. Besides you I have 29 friends on the Wall. Coincidentally one of them, L/Cpl. Mike Murphy, was KIA May 26, 1968. I hope you are with mom and dad and may you all Rest In Peace. Semper Fi, Jim
