Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Alvin Eugene Wiles, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

Always in my heart
Goot, You were my first love, and I was yours. Our time together was too short. I remember you today like it was yesterday. I visited your resting place years back when I was in Tennessee. I sat with you there for a time and remembered you and how the world was back then. It seemed like everything was possible. I remember that you were the most beautiful, loving and gentle soul, who was loved by everybody. You simply lit up a room. I was surprised and touched to see that your birthday is also the birthday of my son. He, too, is a gentle and kind spirit. The world is a better olace for your having been here. I will always keep you close in my heart, Goot, and you will always have a place in my prayers. Charlotte
