To the Cousin I Never Met but Whom I Never Will Forget Thank YOU for YOUR Service Thank YOU for Being a Vet...

Cousin James, when I learned of you and your journey, I felt such a sense of pride and loss all in the same moment. You sacrificed your life on 3/21/1967 exactly 4 years before I was born on 3/21/1971. I had the privilege of visiting your name on the remembrance wall in D.C. in October of 2022. As I touched the deep cut letters and ran my fingers across the weathered grooves, I took pause and reflected on what it must have been like for you to answer the call of our nation. I trembled, I said a prayer in silence, and I said, "thank you" - to you, out loud. I haven't the words to express my gratitude but know that you will never be forgotten as long as there are American hearts who remember our soldiers God Bless you and all who serve and have served so that we might live free. We are indebted to you all.
