Remembering a friend.
Ted and I were on patrol together in July 68. He was as I remember second radio and I the Doc running tail end Charlie. Both our 1st patrols. He was on my team then move to another when he was destined for hill 200. His death brought me to my knees. I think of him when ever Vietnam comes to mind and that has been often for over 50 years!

Memorial Day 2021
This year, as every year for many, my wife finishes the wreaths she makes for every Memorial Day and our American flag is raised in remembrance, as we observe this somber national holiday. You and our loved ones whose names also are inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial are in our hearts. My family and I will never forget the cost of our freedoms, and the men and women who have and continue to step forward to keep America safe.
With respect, always.

You were always a Hero
Dear Ted, you will never be forgotten. I was so fortunate to have you as my friend. We went steady for awhile, I was only 15 years old then. Dad moved us to New Jersey that was awful, and soon after you enlisted into the Marines we did write to each other. I was sixteen when I heard what had happened to you. I was in shock and in disbelief and fell to my knees and cried my heart out over the loss of you.
I went to see your mom about a year after the loss of her only son. Sad I never got to meet Donna. My Heart deeply goes out to your sister.
My Oldest daughter took her 5th grade Class on a field to DC about 10 years ago and I asked her to look up your name on the Viet Nam Memorial and she brought me back a print copy
of your name that was such an awesome remembrance
to have. For myself and this Nation are grateful for your unselfish sacrafice. God Bless You+ Teddy
Fondly your friend,
Debbie Francis

Memorial Day, May 25, 2020
Dear PFC Theodore Jay Whitlock, sir.
This year, as every year, our American Flag looks majestic as it snaps to attention in the breeze, as if to return the salute of all those who have served and who are serving. Two Red, White, and Blue Memorial Day wreats, one to the left and one to the right, remain there during this very special Memorial Day holiday.
Remembering you, those you served with who didn't make it home from the Vietnam War, and all who died defending this country.
With respect, sir.
Curt Carter
