Thank You

Dear PFC Theodore Whitlock, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the 5th Day of Christmas (date on this site is wrong), Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

We were in the same Platoon 332 MCRD San Diego 55 years ago. I just discovered this website. Sorry we didn't get to know each other better. Sorry for your parting from your family at such a young age. Rest in Peace young Marine. Blessings and peace upon your family and friends who loved you.

Memorial Day Observance

We can tell Memorial Day is coming with the wreaths that hang on front doors, and the small red, white, and blue American flags that line the grass covered graves of the Veterans’ cemeteries all acrosse America. One of those graves is yours, and we honor your life and your memory on this Memorial day.

May we never forget your example and the true cost of our freedoms. You with those who love you paid that cost, and America will be forever indebted.

With respect, always.

Remembering a friend.

Ted and I were on patrol together in July 68. He was as I remember second radio and I the Doc running tail end Charlie. Both our 1st patrols. He was on my team then move to another when he was destined for hill 200. His death brought me to my knees. I think of him when ever Vietnam comes to mind and that has been often for over 50 years!

Memorial Day 2021

This year, as every year for many, my wife finishes the wreaths she makes for every Memorial Day and our American flag is raised in remembrance, as we observe this somber national holiday. You and our loved ones whose names also are inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial are in our hearts. My family and I will never forget the cost of our freedoms, and the men and women who have and continue to step forward to keep America safe.
With respect, always.
Curt Carter
