One Squared Away Marine
SSgt White was my DI during OCS at Quantico in June/July 1968. He was the most squared away Marine I have ever known. He was tough, but fair. He cared about those who were in his charge. I consider him to be one of the most influential people in my life. "All honor to his name".

From stockboy to Staff Sergeant
James B. White
The 1960 Thomas Edison High School graduate was a stockboy before enlisting in the Marines. He was sent to Vietnam in November 1968 and named a platoon sergeant in Company K of the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines. 1st Marine Division. The 26-year-old staff sergeant died on Feb. 2, 1969. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.
