Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Johnny Cecil Wheeler, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

A Friend.

Johnny' nickname was. "The Fox" we worked togather in the paper mill in Augusta Ga in 1966. This was a fun loving person, always had good things to say about everyone.I have thought about him often.

Johnny Wheeler

40 years ago today 8/23/67. I was a new guy in Johnny Wheelers squad when he was killed trying to get to a wounded comrade. I believe the guys name was Reeves. He made it and Johnny did not. A brave guy I did not know him well, but I will always remember him
