Thank You
Dear Cpl. Brennan,
Thank you for being a Rifleman. Semper Fi. Independence Day is approaching, and it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I honor his sacrifice. We served together - a good friend and a fine young man.
Jim and I met in Staging Battalion at Camp Pendleton in Feb/Mar of 1967 and became fast friends. We shipped out to Vietnam on the same day in March of 1967. I went to MAG 12 in Chu Lai, and Jim into the bush somewhere to do real fighting. He was a grunt (0311) and I was lucky enough to be in the Air Wing. Miracle of miracles, we met again in Danang at the R&R center and discovered we were both going on R&R to Singapore at the same time! In the interest of respectful discretion, I won't share all our exploits of that R&R week, but be assured we had a great time and several beers were consumed! I will always remember his smile. It was in Okinawa on the way back to the States in April of 1968 that I ran into a mutual friend who gave me the bad news. So sorry for Jim and his loved ones. God bless him. I will always remember his smile and he will always live in my memory. Semper Fi!

Remembering An American Hero
Dear CPL James Aloyisus Brennan, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
