Thank You
Dear PFC Donald Wentz, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman, Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Advent has begun. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

We Will Remember
I had the honor to say your name during the 40th anniversary commemoration of the Wall. May you rest in peace.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep
On this anniversary of your death thanks for your service to our country sir. I hope this poem gives some small measure of solace to those who knew you..........................Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Haverford High School
Remember Donald from High School... our last names were at the end of the alphabet so we seemed to be in some classrooms together. Remember his humor and just an overall great guy. So sad you didn’t make it back home.

Misadventure (Friendly fire)
Firebase Gela was a U.S. Army firebase located northwest of Lai Khe in Binh Duong Province, RVN. On November 21, 1968, an artillery fire mission directed against enemy forces fell short and landed near U.S. positions at FSB Gela. Two Americans, PFC Donald R. Wentz and SP4 James L. Brooks, suffered fatal injuries in the blast. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
