PFC Robert James Wells Jr. served with A Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Marine Amphibious Force. He was killed during Operation Scotland II, when an explosive device went off on the south side of Hill 689 (Coffelt Database).
