born October 1968.

I spoke with Ruth over twenty years ago . At the time I was compelled to look in the phone book for any Brellenthin family members.Due to the fact that i as well have worn his bracelet now everday for 23 years. At the time we spoke she was kind enough to tell me he was a great poem writer and played the guitar. I felt blessed to have been sent a letter from Ruth and a wedding picture. I will never forget the fact that they had only been married several weeks and that Mike was lost shortly after. I will always stop in my tracks and listen to every line of the song Homeward bound by Simon and Garfunkel ( His favorite song ) As I was given life on Oct,4,1968 a great man like Mike had just lost his life for me to be able to live free in this great counrty. As I try and look through tearing eyes to write this I feel love and pain for a man I will never meet. My only gift to him and his family is a song from James Taylor... You got a friend ..needless to say Mike you will never be forgotten. This Bracelet is and has been my luck charm. When ever I am troubled or down and out as the song goes I have always had a friend.
