I Will Never Forget
You were my friend whom I met via the mail by way of my cousin, John Reilly, when you were with the 196th. I told John I prayed for him and his friends every day. You wrote one day to thank me - we wrote for almost a year. You were so close to coming home - I thought for sure I would get to meet you, but instead I got the call from my Aunt that your life ended on 3/5/67. It was heartbreaking - the closest I got to you was at your wake in Union City. I knew from your letters that you were a good, loyal man. You loved your country, your family and your fellow soldiers. We as a country are proud of you and of the other soldiers who gave all. RIP my friend. It's 53 years later and I will never forget. Thanks to those who shared photos of Jerry. The only one which he sent me was taken when my wallet disappeared many years ago. I am so grateful to see his face again.

Dear Spec 4 Breen,
Thank your for your service as an Infantryman. Independence Day is approaching, and it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
