Remembering my Neighbor

I lived in the same cul-de-sac as the Webb family in Springfield, Oregon. Mike was 12 years older but I remember him playing with us little kids. He was very nice and friendly. It was very sad moment of my childhood when I heard he died in Vietnam. The war was on the nightly news every evening, but Mike's death brought the war home. Our families stayed close for many years. I have fond memories of his father, step mother and sister.

Even though he played a small part in my early life, I have never forgotten him.

I'm proud to say that I was named after Michael R Webb.

My name is Mike Lebeau. I was born in 1967. My father Don Lebeau was friends with Mike Webb. I have been very proud to tell people my entire life whom I was named after. I wished I could have known him.
