MY FRIEND, JOEY BRAVIN
On this, the 56th anniversary of your loss and what would have been your 77th year of life, I salute you and remember you, as I do most days. Joey and I were childhood friends, grew up in the same building in the Bronx, went camping together, shared our families together, spent innumerable hours together. Joey was a good friend, a sweet kid, very smart, and a lousy cook. We lost touch at high school age, but I followed his life from afar. The next time I saw him was at his funeral, a horribly sad day that I carry with me to this one.
What I lament most of all is the thought of what he missed in this life; what I admire most is that he sacrificed all that for what he believed in.

Always Remember
Joseph and I were in same Army ROTC Class at Penn State. We took ROTC courses together in Wagner Building and marched/drilled on Wagner Field. Both of us were commissioned as 2LT's in Schwab Auditorium on Graduation Day in June 1967.
Traveling Vietnam Wall now permanently resides outside U. S. Infantry Museum at Ft. Benning, GA. Live about one-hour away; visited there over this Memorial Day weekend and touched (again) his name on Wall. Always Remember, Always.
