Remembering An American Hero

Dear SSGT Anthony Felix Washington, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

The STUD

Wash was always sharp, what we all refered to as 'STRIK'. He was kind of quiet and soft spoken (laid back) all the Ladies loved him, I kind of looked up to him. His ETS date was before mine and he "re-up'd" when I asked why he said " I was a shoe salemen, what do I have to go home to". We hit it off right away and his other buddy Jones who introduced us and the trio was born, Wash, Jones and Smith, that was the best year and half in the service, we did everything together, Thirty eight years before I found out Wash and it feels like it just happened. This is the only picture I have to send buddy, the one you wanted me to take on leave to show my sister what she was missing, your words, man I can't tell you how sorry I wasn't with you, know one thing buddy you will never be forgotten. "ALL THE WAY"

Thank You

Dear Anthony,
I am writing you to commend you for the great service that you gave to your country. Through your sacrifice, the United States lost one of its brave fighters. You are not a replaceable person. You are unique and you had your own story, your own loves, and your own family. My greatest gratitude goes to you, whom was willing to give up your uniqueness for the betterment of all mankind. Thank you.
