Thank You
Dear Cap Gray Warren, Thank you for your service as a Tactical Fighter Pilot, and for graduating from the Air Force Academy. I researched you on your 53rd anniversary, sad. You are still MIA. Please come home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Veterans’ Day is soon. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Be at peace.

MIA Capt. Gray D. Warren, USAFA 1965 - - POW/MIA RECOGNITION DAY 2019
The Department of Defense conducted a ceremony at the Pentagon on Friday, 20 September 2019 in recognition of POW/MIA Recognition Day. Deputy Defense Secretary David L. Nordquist remembered the 1,587 MIAs from the Vietnam War as well as all those still unaccounted for from WWII, the Korean War, the Cold War and other conflicts. Since the 2018 Ceremony, DPAA has positively identified 7 Vietnam War MIAs. MIA Captain Gray Dawson Warren, USAFA class of 1965, is one of those 1,587 MIAs unaccounted for in Southeast Asia from the Vietnam War. He is also one of 8 graduates from the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs class of 1965 who is still MIA. The other 7 USAFA Class of 1965 MIAs (rank & name) are: (1) Capt. Tommy Callies; (2) Maj. James Crew; (3) Capt. Harley Hackett; (4) Maj. Peter Hesford; (5) Capt. Albin Lucki; (6) Capt. Paul Raymond; and (7) Capt. Victor Smith. There are a total of 42 Air Force Academy graduates unaccounted for in SEA. The USAFA MIAs account for 27% of the 151 graduates who made the ultimate sacrifice in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War.

Putting a face on a name
I had an M.I.A bracelet in high school that was engraved with Captain Warren's name. I would wonder if he was safe, and hoped that he would one day return to his family. I finally received a letter from his wife, stating that he was now considered killed. My heart broke for her. What a senseless war.
