My platoon mate, Doc Lefty, I believe
I accidentally came on a post "Doc Lefty keeps an unwanted rifle, by John Neely--I assume this is the same Doc Lefty from my platoon. Shockingly this states he died on the SAME DATE I was critically wounded, July 16, 1969!! His fellow medic cared for me that afternoon. Doc was a great friend and a very classy guy. I didn't know he was a CO, I shared his belief that war was wrong and wish I had discussed it. [email protected]
