I remember hearing you had died, it broke our hearts

I lived down the street from the handsome Alert boys, and we were all so devastated that your mother was now a "Gold Star Mother" and we all wept. I still think of you every Memorial day. Gone too soon.

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will never die...

My Brother

Through all, until that dreadful day, a brother then and forever. Always with a warm greeting and an even warmer heart, you touched us all with your bravery and uncommon valor to do what must be done!

I hope that Father God will some day see fit to reunite us again my brother, forever in my heart!
