Always remember you . . .

DOUG:
You were kind, you were funny, and also a little wild ~ we enjoyed spending time together. I couldn't believe when I'd heard you were gone... your letters just stopped. I will never forget you. . . wish I could see you just one more time.
GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN ~

After 43 years I still miss you!

I remember the wonderful house you lived in in North Minneapolis, how you loved the sound of a vacum, 8th grade math class, seeking out Marie Hagen, seeing Operation Petticoat at the State Theater, pumping gas on West Broadway, your 1959 Ford, you loving my Mother's home made bread and drinking near-beer in the Delano bar. I love you and will always miss you! You were my best friend---always happy to see me and always positive.

witnesses

We knew you as children
We were seven brothers - Hanson's
You were a cousin we loved
We knew you as a young man
Strong willed - and fun loving
Chosen by the army to be a soldier
For the United States of America
They chose well .............

But we only knew you briefly after that
You died so young - age 20
In a place so very far away .....
A province called Phuoc Long - in Vietnam

We just wanted you to know
Though your journey home was long
Most of us were there - nearby
As were your dear mother and family

We were all witnesses

You made it home Doug

Home to Minnesota in late summer

Home from the war

We wish you peace

LOVE
THE HANSON'S
