Hometown son gives his life for his country.
Mike was commissioned in the U.S.Air Force after completing Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, Texas in 1967. He attended The Air Force Survival School at Fairchild AFB, Spokane, Washington and left for Vietnam early in the following year. While in Vietnam he piloted a reconnaissance type aircraft. It was on a reconnaisance mission in April, 1970 that his plane was hit by enemy fire. Lt Wall was attempting an emergency landing when the plane exploded killing him and his co-pilot. The six crewmen survived.
