Gerry was my cousin and always wanted to be a soldier. When I entered the Army in 62' Gerry made plans to follow my footsteps. He instead choose the Marines because they were "the toughest". I last saw Gerry at our home area only a few weeks before he left for "Nam". He stepped on a land mine with only a short time to rotation. I still miss him, as he was my best friend. Nough said.
