Dear PFC Lester Vess, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Your 52nd anniversary is in a month, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart . Autumn has begun. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it still needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I met Lester at Bear Den Camp ground in the NC mountains right before he left for Nam. We wrote until I got the notification. He is not forgotten.

I am your great niece. My grandmother is your sister, Jeanette. I came across this site and was blown away by how much you resemble your father, Ollis. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Please know that we think of you often, and while you were gone when my Mom was born, she and her siblings grew up knowing all about you, and so did all of her kids. Never forgotten, Uncle Lester Vess!
