Thank you

I would like to thank my Uncle Peter and all of the other brave servicemen for their ultimate sacrifice.

I would also like to thank Sonny for sharing some of his childhood memories.

I am also thankful to my cousin Diana for helping me to find a better picture of our uncle so that I could upload it and honor him.

I am honored to call Pete my friend

Pete and I were good friends. We both went in to the military in 1964.In 1963 Pete myself and a group of friends hung out in the town of lindenhurst. Pete and I would walk home late at night. We talked just about everything. In June 1966 I was deployed aboard USS Springfield CLG 7.I received the news my good friend paid the ultimate price his life.In the service of our country. I have never forgotten him I think of Pete all the time.I came home to lindenhurst in 1968.Pete came home in a flaged draped coffin.I am honored to have known him and call him my friend Sonny Manfra United States Navy 1964-1968

My uncle that I never met

My uncle Peter died when my dad, his younger brother was a child. I think of him often and wonder what his life would've been like if he wasnt taken from his family. I never knew you but I still miss you.
