Thank you

Dear Sp4 VandeVenter, My husband, Sp4 Christopher Martinson served with you in the 5th PID in NhaTrang. Chris died last April after many years suffering from Agent Orange illnesses. The last letter he wrote me from VN dated April 4, 1970, read, "It's been a bad week. My friend Blythe died on the 1st. I feel terrible. I will tell you more when I am home in your arms in 8 days." Thank you for being his friend and for your service. Please know, you are remembered, now, by me. Libby Martinson

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Blythe Van De Venter, Thank you for your service as a Broadcast Journalist. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. POW/MIA Recognition Day just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Blythe Noel Van De Venter, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
