You are still with me, friend
I am writing my memoirs that include my time in the Army with Carlos Ugarte. In doing so, I constantly think of him. I left a remembrance in 1998, he is still alive in my mind. He was a person that I would have contacted after our service. He died while serving as a Forward Observer for our platoon, the 4.2" Mortars, HQ 2/22 Infantry, 4th Infantry Division.
Some time in the early 2000s, I received an email from his daughter, that he never knew he had. Carlos' girl friend had her after he passed. Could not get things together for her to attend one of the Triple Deuce reunions and then I lost contact with her.
