From an old paperboy
I remember well a rough & tumble 12 year old kid showing me (the 11 year old tenderfoot) the ropes at the Berwyn news agency, way back in 1962. We hung together after our routes, going to the bakery for sweet rolls, or the White Castle on Ogden for sliders.
While not close in high school, we regularly saw and greeted each other in the halls. He was still the rough & tumble type, and it was no surprise he joined the marines. I took the safer route into the Air Force. I can still remember the day one of the other ex-paper boys told me Pete had bought it. Somehow, it's him I remember when I see the wall, although I know others, some better.
Pete is not just a name on a wall. He has a personality, a face, a history. I remember him, and I assume you do too. Not fade away.
