Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Theodore Jackson Bradshaw, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Final Mission of PFC Theodore J. Bradshaw

Operation Wahiawa was a search and destroy mission which sought to locate and destroy VC forces, supplies and bases in the area of operation in the Hau Nghia Province of South Vietnam. On May 21, 1966, PFC Theodore J. Bradshaw participated in the operation as the driver of the lead APC in an armored column from A Troop, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 25th Infantry Division. At approximately 0740 hours, his track hit a land mine. The explosion, which formed a crater 10’X8’X4’, blew the engine of the vehicle into the driver’s compartment, causing fatal injuries to PFC Bradshaw. Four others were wounded in the attack.
