I'm Dancing

Hi Papo,
It's April and I can't help but think about the last time I saw you and the promise you made. I can't help thinking about what could have been even though I know that God knew what was best. I just thank God that you're watching over Junior, he resembles you in so many ways. Erick is 18 and he graduates this year. He is a computer guru and quite an intellect. He's an amazing young man. I can't believe he is going to college. He wanted to join the Marine Corps like Jr. but he is considering our advice and looking into the Navy and Air Force. This is of course AFTER he graduates with a Bachelor's. Rebekah is a multi-talented young lady. I'm sure you've heard her sing and play the piano. After 2 years of not playing the violin, she decided to take it up again and has impressed the orchestra teacher. Bekah's has an affinity to music, psychology, and law so she has taken classes in all three for her junior year in order to figure out which of the three she truly favors. I thank God for them.

Even though you're not here physically, I know you're watching over us and you are in with God I thank God that you were in my life everyday. You gave me a reason to seek out and hope. You made it possible for me to see that I should move forward and only look back and smile even when there was nothing to smile about. Hearing this song I realized that you helped me in so many ways and now...I you made it possible for me to choose to dance.

Don't Miss Me

Sitting on the rocks of Oak Beach in New York on June 4th, 2002- I spoke with you briefly and watched the ocean before me go dark quietly as the sun set behind me. I heard you whisper these words, "Don't Miss Me Too Much, Negrita..."

Holding David's hand I threw in a solitary rose in the ocean and watched it drift away.

"I will try.."

Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Whose Arms Are These That Embrace Me?

Whose arms are these that embrace me,
Giving me a love that's truly secure?
With the strength of a thousand chariots
These arms transcended time and endured.

Whose arms are these that embrace me—
Filled with warmth of the sun and a joy I never knew?
You placed a smile in my heart and the desire of
"Never ever, will I part from you."

Whose arms are these that embrace me?
Tears begin to well in my eyes;
For I know deep inside
Those arms that were always opened wide
Were abruptly taken from mine...

Whose arms are these that embrace me?
Oh, please let this dream be real.
Tears flow freely as I see
That these arms were just longing, searching, and wanting
Were not yours
They belonged to me...
