Remembering a friend

I served in 2/34 Recon with Frank in 67&68. He was a friend and a good soldier. I was sleeping on the ground six or eight away from him when a 60mm mortar round exploded very close to him taking his life. It is hard to describe what a great guy he was. Taught my how to stay alive. Probably the greatest thing I can say about him is he was truly a soldier’s soldier and unbelievably brave. I still think of him often.
