My Cousin Joe
Cousin Joe
I am now 62 and think of you often. I was only 13 when you lost your life and remember that time as if it just happen yesterday. You were so young at 22 and had your life to live as I have live. I remember the last time I saw you in your parents backyard. You were so happy to be home. You went back to Vietnam and on your last mission and die by friendly fire. So sad.
Your photo 3 days before that tragic day was in the Daily news saying GI in Vietnam without printing your name.but we all new it was you.
I will always be proud of you and you will never be forgotten
Love
Cousin Joe

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Joseph Timpa Jr, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
