I Remember....
I went to Buchser High School in Santa Clara with Darwin Thomas. I didn't know him real well but I do remember him as an outstanding student and well liked person. I remember he had a leading part in the student play and he was great. That was many years ago. I was only 17 yrs. old at the time and Darwin was the same age.
Back in 1974 there was a Memorial Day parade in Santa Clara attended by many veterans including Everett Alvarez Jr., the Navy pilot held seven years in captivity. There was also a really nice float dedicated to the memory of Darwin Thomas. That brought back some very old remembrances. I know Darwin was an extremely talented human being and, if he had lived, he would have been very successful in life. Such a loss of a great human being....

Thank You
Dear Ens Darwin Thomas, Thank you for your service as an Unrestricted Line Officer - Pilot on the USS ORISKANY. You are still MIA. Please come home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Independence Day just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it still needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Be at peace.
