Thank You
Dear Lt John Templeton, Thank you for your service as a Basic Infantry Officer. The 54th anniversary of the start of your tour is in 3 days, but sadly followed by the 54th anniversary of your loss. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Monday was Independence Day. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it still needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Johnny
I grew up with John when he was Johnny. We lived across the street from each other in Winston-Salem, NC. He was only 4 months older than I was and we were inseparable. I was a Jane to his Tarzan - a Dale to his Roy and a willing accomplice in all we did. I can never fully express how much I loved him and how much we learned from each other as our lives remained entwined. He was truly one of the kindest and most sincere people I have ever known. He was full of love and laughter and goodness and commitment. I know how dedicated he was to his country and his ideals and those who served with him. We all lost a truly great man when we lost him . After all these years I still love him and hold him in my heart. America he was truly one of your heroes! Love you - Johnny!

Good friend
John and I went to elementary school together. Sunny-side, Brainerd,Chattanooga,Tn. We lived close to each other. John and I used to spar in his yard. He shared values with me and I was better for it. I knew his parents. I was saddened when I learned of his ultimate sacrifice Now some 60 years later he is not forgotten. Don Covey, Patriot Guard Rider, Vietnam Vet
