Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Larry Gene Taylor, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

poem to my son

Broken Hearts Don't Heal

Once our home was so happy,
God blessed it with three sons so fine.
But the oldest he was taken,
The other two stand in line.

This old war it is so cruel,
How our hearts ache with pain.
For our loved one we are missing.
Things will never be the same.

We received the awards given,
By the president who signed his name.
For our son's outstanding bravery
In a war that is so in-vain.

Is it for money and for riches,
Our rulers terrible greed.
For the average folks are paying,
With our sons we have such need.

God gave us the world and all its beauty,
For this war He has no plans.
All the evil and distruction was,
Created just by man.
