Thank You
Dear PFC Ernest Taylor, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Independence Day is next Monday. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it still needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

you are remembered by the Ghosts
The Ghosts of the Green Grass tells the story of the horrific encounter of the 2nd of the 7th Cavalry, First Cavalry (Airmobile) on 17 November 1965. Ernest was a member of Delta Company on that day and died near Snyder Bembry...Ernest was one of a handful of Benning's Main Post soldiers who did demonstrations at Benning for the various schools when he along with friends was pulled into the 2/7 1st Cav division weeks before we deployed to Vietnam...the operation Shiny Bayonet was the first big one we were in and on the 17th we encountered the 8/66th NVA and the 1/33rd NVA as we walked across the jungles to a place called Landing Zone Albany
